The Communauté de communes des Portes d’Ariège Pyrénées (CCPAP) has received the 'Territory Committed to Nature' (TEN) trophy 2025-2028, an award that highlights its commitment to biodiversity.

Monique Dupré-Godfrey, Vice-President of the CCPAP for Ecological Transition, Mobility, and Environment, received the trophy on September 23, 2026, at the Hôtel de Région Occitanie in Toulouse. This recognition underscores the community's renewed commitment to local biodiversity.
The 'Territory Committed to Nature' initiative, part of the CCPAP's territorial project since 2020, aims to place biodiversity at the heart of public policies and develop concrete actions to preserve local natural resources. The CCPAP builds on existing initiatives such as hedge planting, differentiated management of spaces, environmental awareness, and consideration of biodiversity in economic activity zone development.
For the 2025-2028 period, the CCPAP will strengthen its action around three priority axes: preserving and restoring ecological continuities (green, blue, and brown networks), developing environmental education and public awareness, and preserving the dark sky by reducing night-time public lighting and raising awareness about bats, insects, and energy savings.
This distinction confirms the CCPAP's ambition to make biodiversity a cross-cutting issue, benefiting the territory and future generations, thereby improving the quality of life for residents.
