Opened on August 25th, this new facility with 12 places and a team of 5 early childhood professionals provides families in Cavanac and neighboring towns with a new childcare solution. This project fulfills a shared desire by local elected officials and Carcassonne Agglo to develop a new proximity service.
Régis Banquet, President of Carcassonne Agglo, highlighted how this initiative demonstrates the strength of inter-municipal cooperation in creating concrete responses to local needs. The opening aligns with Carcassonne Agglo's solidarity policy for families and early childhood, aiming to offer accessible, conveniently located facilities that meet the needs of children and professionals.
The development of this micro-crèche represents an investment of nearly €600,000 and received support from the CAF of Aude, the State, and the Departmental Council of Aude.
Named in honor of Joséphine Baker, a committed artist, the crèche embodies the values of freedom, tolerance, and fraternity. Patrick Schmith, Mayor of Cavanac, and attending officials expressed their pleasure during the inauguration.
Among the distinguished guests were Chloé Danillon, Vice-President of the Department of Aude, Elise Palus, Director of the CAF of Aude, and Emmanuelle Plantier-Lemarchand, Secretary General of the Prefecture of Aude.
