The municipality of Pont-Saint-Esprit announced this Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the closure of several of its public facilities. This decision follows weather alerts of a red vigilance for rain-flooding and orange for storms-floods.
The facilities affected by this closure include the CITEZEN, the LIBRARY, the CCAS (Social Services), and the SPORTS FACILITIES. The photography exhibition scheduled for today is also cancelled.
The town hall reminds citizens of the safety measures to adopt during a red alert: limit travel, check traffic conditions, take shelter in a solid building, and stay away from trees. It is advisable to get information before undertaking any travel or outdoor activity and to avoid areas near watercourses.
It is imperative not to drive or walk through submerged roads or near watercourses. Furthermore, respect all signage and do not enter submersible bridges or fords if they are closed or beginning to be submerged.
The municipality thanks the public for their understanding and urges everyone to exercise extreme caution.
