On Monday, November 2nd, the removal of four rows of concrete blocks from the wall threatening to collapse is underway. This intervention constitutes the first step of the work intended to restore circulation on one lane.
The land and the structures concerned are private. From the outset, the City has ensured the safety of the public highway and has been pursuing procedures with the owners and experts. Technical investigations, followed by the recommendations of the judicial expert, have made it possible to define the necessary interventions to consider a partial resumption of traffic.
A formal notice was sent to the owners on October 22nd to obtain the completion of the work. The City had to wait for the deadline to expire before undertaking their execution on their behalf. As the requested work has not been carried out, the procedure is being initiated today: a report of non-compliance by the municipal police and notification to the owners by a judicial officer.
Three stages are planned to prepare for passage: the removal of the threatening concrete blocks, the felling and removal of eleven trees identified as dangerous by the judicial expert, and finally the cleaning and securing of the roadway with concrete protections, barriers, temporary markings, and traffic lights.
A reopening on one lane, with alternating traffic, is planned for the end of the week. This prospect remains subject to potential site difficulties, weather conditions, and verification of safety conditions. The date will be confirmed according to the progress of operations.
The City acknowledges the daily difficulties for residents, shopkeepers, and users. This partial reopening should bring a first improvement. Efforts continue to ensure the long-term safety of the land, at the owners' expense, and to achieve the complete reopening of the boulevard.
Pending an official announcement, the restricted area remains inaccessible, even on foot. The shops in La Mirandole remain open.
