Since this summer, the Occitanie Region and Lot Tourisme have been collaborating to reward sustainable travel to tourist sites in the Lot, offering discounts to users of the liO network and cyclists.

A new initiative is promoting eco-responsible tourism in the Lot. Travelers using the regional transport network liO (trains and buses) as well as cyclists now benefit from an immediate discount of at least 10% with partner tourism providers in the department. This scheme, initiated by the Occitanie Region with its "Allez-y avec liO" approach, aims to reduce carbon footprint while making outings more affordable.
The unprecedented partnership between liO and Lot Tourisme, sealed last June, specifically integrates cycling, which the Lot already promotes as a low-carbon mode of transport. "Our territory is particularly suited to active mobility," explains Anouk Mooldijk, CSR and mobility manager at the Cahors – Vallée du Lot tourist office and project leader. Local tourist offices play a key role in guiding visitors towards these soft mobility options.
For tourism professionals, joining the scheme is simplified through an online form. Lot Tourisme acts as a one-stop shop, training teams and managing promotion. Partners commit to using the liO logo and integrating the route planner on their website. This initiative allows providers to highlight their CSR commitment and attract an eco-responsible clientele.
Launched in the summer of 2026 with 13 pioneering structures, the scheme is currently being refined before a wider rollout in 2027. The Occitanie Region plans comprehensive communication, including posters, social media, and dedicated sections on the Lot's tourist map. The Lot is the first department in Occitanie to establish such a partnership, aiming to decarbonize tourist journeys and increase the use of public transport.
To take advantage of the offer, travelers simply need to find their route using the liO planner, choose an activity with a partner, and present proof of transport (train ticket or liO bus ticket dated within 15 days for train, 5 days for bus) at the reception to receive the discount.
