Facing potential damage caused by drought and differential ground movement, the Town Hall of Saint-Jean is launching a survey for affected residents. The goal is to compile a file to request recognition of a state of natural disaster.

Each drought episode can cause damage to homes due to differential ground movement. To obtain recognition as a natural disaster, the Town must gather all declarations from residents whose homes may have been affected.
This survey will help determine the number of property owners affected by damage and allow the prefect of the department to be petitioned for natural disaster status recognition.
Individuals noticing damage to their property are asked to inform the Town before November 30, 2026. It is necessary to specify the anomalies observed (cracks, etc.), provide photographs of the damage, and include their contact details: name, surname, address, phone number, and email.
Declarations can be sent by email to urbanisme@mairie-saintjean.fr or by mail to Mairie de Saint-Jean – Service Urbanisme, 33 ter route d’Albi, 31240 Saint-Jean.
It is important to note that this procedure with the Town does not replace the claim with your insurer. As soon as damage potentially linked to the drought is observed, it is advisable to contact your insurer to file your claim.
