The research network « Inter.HI.ST. Interdisciplinary history of students » aims to study the history of students from an interdisciplinary perspective. Through the expertise of international specialists, the network examines the student in their entirety, moving beyond analyses limited to types of institutions, curricula, or French historiography.
The goal is to renew scientific approaches by crossing academic perspectives and incorporating the international dimension of collective reflection. This project is supported by the « interdisciplinary research networks » 2026 call for projects from the MSHS-T.
Events will take place at the University Toulouse – Jean Jaurès, Maison de la recherche, room E309, and remotely. Registration is through veronique.castagnet-lars[at]univ-tlse2.fr. The program includes study days on international research, available sources, methodologies, and interdisciplinarity, running until October 2026, with perspectives for 2027 and 2028.
A specific study day is scheduled for October 1, 2026, at the National Archives in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine, and via videoconference. It will cover new research perspectives, including the presentation of medieval history resources, research on school uniforms, and the profiling of students in historical Portuguese sources.
The project is supported by several research units such as FRAMESPA, CRESCO, the SFR AEF of UT2J, and the MSHS-T. The research blog Hypothèses « Éducation et Patrimoine » is also available for consultation.
