The airline Ryanair has announced a change to its procedures for checked baggage drop-off. Starting November 10, 2026, passengers will be required to check in their checked baggage at least 60 minutes before their flight's departure time, compared to the previous 40 minutes. This measure will apply across the company's entire network.
The aim is to allow travelers more time to go through security checks and reach their boarding gate comfortably. Affected passengers are therefore advised to anticipate their arrival at the airport and plan to be on-site at least 2 hours before their flight's departure.
This new rule does not apply to passengers who have checked in online and are traveling only with carry-on baggage.
