The rumors have been confirmed: Maubourguet will host the start of the 20th stage, the penultimate one of the 'Grande Boucle', on Saturday, July 24, 2027. This decision was made official in Paris, attended by Mayor Sylvie Dubertrand, alongside Maryse Carrère, senator for Hautes-Pyrénées, Michel Pélieu, president of the Department of Hautes-Pyrénées, and Guy Dulout, mayor of Sanous and responsible for community development projects.
The day before the arrival on the Champs-Élysées, this stage is expected to be strategically important. It offers a final opportunity for riders to gain precious seconds and potentially shake up the general classification before the grand finale in Paris.
For Maubourguet, it is an immense honor and joy to have been chosen to host one of the world's greatest sporting events, which attracts tens of millions of viewers and thousands of spectators along the roads each year.
On July 24, 2027, the commune will welcome cycling enthusiasts from around the world to cheer for the greatest champions. This will be an exceptional occasion to showcase Maubourguet and its territory, sharing the beauty of its landscapes, its festive spirit, its gastronomy, and its sporting culture!
Let's make this event a great popular and collective celebration, a moment of pride for our commune and its inhabitants, and a memory to cherish and pass on to future generations.
