In the heart of the Rebisclou wood, a new 4.2 km trail allows visitors to discover the story of the parachute drop on April 10, 1944 and the commitment of the Séméac resistance fighters of the « Hector network ». Ten informational panels and ten podcasts provide access to this living memory, designed to be shared and passed on.
The day will begin at 9:30 AM with the official inauguration at the Buckmaster Stele, Chemin des Crêtes in Séméac. At 10:30 AM, a 4.2 km memorial walk will lead participants to Calavanté.
The arrival in Calavanté, Chemin de Laspeyrades, will be marked around 12:30 PM/1:00 PM with a toast and a commemorative parachute drop by the Laloubère School. A picnic is planned on site, with catering available via a food truck (reservations: 06.86.58.78.52).
In the afternoon, at 3:00 PM, historian Thomas Ferrer will give a conference at the Calavanté village hall on « The Resistance in the Hautes-Pyrénées: the example of Séméac and the Hector network ».
