Facing the Hérault region's orange alert for rain and floods, and exceptional rainfall episodes, Michel Arrouy, mayor of Frontignan la Peyrade, triggered the communal safeguard plan at 10 AM to organize population protection.
Municipal services, the municipal police, and firefighters are fully mobilized to manage the situation.
It is strongly recommended to avoid all travel, especially around the town center. Boulevards de la République and Gambetta are currently closed to traffic.
“"Be careful, limit your travel, and follow the authorities' instructions. Never venture onto a flooded road, whether on foot or by car."
The town encourages residents to follow updates on the official channels of the City, the prefecture of Hérault, and Météo-France.
