As part of the public consultation for the ZIFMAR 2 project at the port of Sète-Frontignan, a public information meeting was held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 6 PM in the Salle Voltaire, Frontignan la Peyrade. The meeting allowed for the presentation of the project and responses to residents' questions, while the consultation dossier remains open until January 12, 2027.
The ZIFMAR 2 project is the second phase of the expansion of the river-maritime industrial zone of the port basin. This extension, covering 33 hectares in the municipality of Frontignan la Peyrade, would involve the construction of new dikes and the infilling of three compartments. These works are planned by the Occitanie Region, the Public Regional Establishment Port of Sète South of France, and Voies Navigables de France (VNF).
The land gained would be developed to accommodate industrial-port activities and serve as a logistics base for offshore wind development. As part of the environmental authorization request, the complete public consultation dossier is available for review until January 12, 2027, to gather opinions and suggestions via an online register.
