Following the storms on October 20, 2026, the Town of Lunel-Viel has initiated proceedings with state services to request recognition of a natural disaster (CATNAT). Residents and professionals who have suffered damage are invited to report it to the town hall by October 30.

The municipality is conducting a census of the damage observed in its territory to compile a comprehensive file supporting this request. Affected individuals must complete a form provided by the Town, submitting their name and contact details, the precise address of the damaged property, a description of the damage and when it occurred, and photographs of the damage, if possible.
Declarations must be submitted no later than Friday, October 30, 2026, by email to secretariat-general@ville-lunelviel.fr or directly at the town hall reception.

"It is important to individually report your claim to your insurer, without waiting for potential recognition of natural disaster status."

Affected individuals
It is also advised to keep photographs, invoices, and useful supporting documents, and to take necessary measures to prevent further damage. The census conducted by the town hall will support the municipal request but does not, in itself, constitute recognition of natural disaster status. The Town of Lunel-Viel will keep residents informed of the progress of this initiative.
