Eel Festival Returns to Marseillan on October 17

On October 17, 2026, Marseillan will host the 11th edition of the Eel Festival, organized by Sète agglopôle méditerranée.

The event, held at the Place du Théâtre from 10 AM to 9 PM, will offer a wide variety of eel preparations, cooked on-site or available for takeaway. Visitors can savor eel Provençal style, in salads, with parsley, in bourride, ravioli, tempura, or Thai sauce and Panko style. Other local products will also be available, such as shellfish, tielles, mussel turnovers and skewers, onion fritters, and grilled tuna. Artisanal charcuterie, crêpes, and waffles will complete the offerings.
Wine will also be in the spotlight with the presence of ten local winemakers, offering AOP Picpoul, AOP Muscat de Mireval, AOP Languedoc, IGP Côtes de Thau, IGP Pays d’Oc wines, as well as organic wines. Tasting packages will be available: one for €6 offering three tickets, and another for €2.50 for one ticket. The SAM’PASS card will provide advantageous rates (€5 for 3 tickets, €2 per ticket). Each purchased package will include a complimentary screen-printed glass.
Access to all activities will be free, regardless of the package purchased. The program includes an eel smoking workshop with tastings at 1 PM and 7 PM, as well as boat trips departing from the port every hour between 11 AM and 5 PM.
