The Town of Ille-sur-Têt has initiated a project to enhance the living environment and public spaces. Following a study commissioned by the Roussillon Conflent Community of Communes, the voluntary drop-off points, previously located on the Place de la République, have been relocated to the Foirail collection point.
This reorganization completely frees up the space of the Place de la République, ending the visual and olfactory nuisances associated with the presence of the bins. The removal of these unsightly facilities enhances the safety and aesthetics of this central location, while restoring its heritage value.
This development is particularly beneficial for the Wednesday and Saturday markets, which will now have a more open space. This will facilitate circulation and improve conditions for vendors, residents, and visitors alike.
This relocation marks a first phase in the ongoing reflection on the town center. The Place de la République is expected to gradually regain its purpose and potential, preceding a future project aimed at sustainably transforming and enhancing the heart of Ille-sur-Têt.
