The fourth edition of the photographic exhibition « Nuggets in My Neighborhood » opened on Wednesday, October 14th, at Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole, presenting the Vernet-Salanque district in a new light through the perspectives of four young photographers.

Supported by Habitat Perpignan Méditerranée in collaboration with L’Enfance Catalane, this initiative allowed Hortência, Sadou, Amine, and Cristiano, guided by photographer Youssef Oziris and educators Laurie Devautour and Perrine Baehler, to explore their environment and capture its richness. Architecture, nature, and daily life scenes are revealed through their shots, offering a sensitive and creative perspective of Vernet-Salanque.
At the opening, attended by David Tranchecoste, community councilor and elected official in Perpignan, representing Louis Aliot, president of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole and mayor of Perpignan, Muriel Corréard, CEO of Habitat Perpignan Méditerranée, and Catherine Calvet, president of the L’Enfance Catalane association, the public discovered the works of the young artists. A film documenting their photographic journey was also screened.
The « Nuggets in My Neighborhood » project aims to provide young people with a space for expression and creation, enabling them to highlight their neighborhood and reveal often-unknown facets. The photographs are exhibited in the hall of the Hôtel d’Agglomération de Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole.
