The final Steering Committee for the Eau’rizon 2070 project was held in Perpignan on October 15, 2026, marking the end of over three years of work on adapting water management in the face of climate change.

27 entities representing basin authorities, local authorities, users, the State, and associations were present to ratify the conclusion of more than three years of work dedicated to adapting water management to climate change.
A review of the current climate, water resources, and water abstraction first shared the assessment of the current deficit in the 5 river basins of the Pyrénées Orientales. This was noted despite good results in water savings achieved since 2018 under the Water Resource Management Plans (PGRE).
A second part of the presentation highlighted the territory's extreme vulnerability to climate change, with an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme drought and flood events.
A third part detailed the common strategy for the Agly, Sègre, Têt, Réart, and Tech basins, stemming from previous consultation phases on the river basins.
Finally, the action plans that will feed into future Water Management and Development Schemes (PTGE) were presented and distributed during the meeting, along with the next steps for each of the 5 river basins.
