The Jean Moulin bridge was inaugurated on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Sainte-Marie-la-Mer, offering a new facility for soft mobility between the village and the beach.

The town of Sainte-Marie-la-Mer celebrates the opening of the Jean Moulin bridge, inaugurated on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. This structure aims to facilitate crossing the Achau Nobe stream and improve connections for pedestrians and cyclists between Sainte-Marie-village and Sainte-Marie-plage.
Due to increasing usage, this new bridge dedicated to soft mobility complements the existing structure. Measuring 19 meters in length and 5 meters in useful width, its lightweight aluminum construction ensures comfort and safety. The installation, carried out at night, was transported by exceptional convoy after prefabrication in a factory in Morbihan. The structure was delivered on July 10, 2026.
This investment of €375,000 including tax, led by Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole, strengthens an important link and contributes to the development of the territory's cycling network. It is part of the metropolis's strategy to support cycling and walking.
The inauguration was attended by local elected officials, including Edmond Jorda, mayor of Sainte-Marie-la-Mer, Jean-Charles Moriconi, vice-president of Perpignan Méditerranée Métropole for Mobility, as well as Laurence Senent Ausina, Guy Rouquié, and François Moreno, community councilors.
