The new Garonne educational trail was officially inaugurated on October 16th, attended by representatives from EDF, the Communauté de communes des Deux Rives, and the CPIE.

The trail, spanning 3 km (round trip), was inaugurated on October 16th. The ceremony brought together the Director of CNPE Golfech, the President of the Communauté de communes des Deux Rives, a representative from the CPIE Pays de Serres – Vallée du Lot, along with several local officials and residents.
This project is the result of a collaboration between EDF, the Communauté de communes des Deux Rives, and experts from the CPIE (Centre Permanent d’initiatives pour l’environnement) Pays de Serres – Vallée du Lot. The main objective is to emphasize the importance of the Garonne river and its tributaries for natural ecosystems, as well as the need for their preservation.
The route features educational panels that allow visitors to discover the richness of the local flora and fauna. It also explains how the removal of the Sirech weir, a stream flowing into the Garonne, has restored the free movement of fish.
