On the occasion of European Heritage Days, the Ariège-Couserans Hospital Centre (CHAC) welcomed the public. This initiative aimed to showcase a less familiar aspect of the institution: its history and heritage.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore locations, artworks, furniture, and decor that reflect the hospital's past and the individuals who contributed to its life over time. Areas usually off-limits to the public, such as the chapel with its remarkable star-vaulted ceiling, its paintings and decor, along with antique furnishings, were made accessible for this special day.
The CHAC emphasizes the importance of preserving and passing on this heritage, recognizing that a healthcare facility is also a place of memory. Sharing this history helps keep alive a part of the institution's and the region's legacy.
The hospital extended its gratitude to the association Patrimoine en Couserans, and particularly to Mr. and Mrs. Latgé, for their involvement and contribution to the event's success. Thanks were also given to all participants who shared this moment of discovery.
