The new energy transition and public works commissions of SYDEEL66 met on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, under the chairmanship of Mr. Jean MAURY, accompanied by delegated vice-presidents Mr. Michel GARCIA and Mr. Claude GRAU. This initial meeting marked an important step to present ongoing projects, share progress, and define future directions for the department's municipalities.
Regarding public works, discussions focused on programs for the aesthetic improvement and security of electrical networks, as well as public lighting operations. Over one million euros are committed to each of these programs.
On the energy transition front, the commission reviewed the support schemes offered to municipalities, such as Shared Energy Consulting +, EcoPousse, Energy Savings Certificates, renewable energy development, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and energy purchasing groups.
Several structuring projects for the coming years were also addressed, including the creation of a shared departmental PMO, the THÉMIS project in Cerdagne, and video protection, with ongoing discussions on supporting municipalities in deploying and modernizing their equipment.
Electric mobility was also a key topic, with preparations for the SYDEEL66 to take over the operation of the City of Perpignan's public charging stations on January 1, 2027. This involves 27 stations, providing 54 charging points.
This new mandate continues the work of SYDEEL66, aiming to support municipalities, pool resources, and develop concrete solutions to address energy challenges.
