The new cultural season of Carcassonne Agglo, titled "L'Envolée," opens on October 6th under the slogan "No future without culture!". This initiative, led by Magali Arnaud, Vice-President for Culture, aims to unite citizens around arts and culture, considered essential needs for the social fabric.
Magali Arnaud highlighted the importance of partnership and solidarity within the Agglo, citing "L'Envolée" as an example of co-construction with local associations, particularly AVEC. She thanked cultural stakeholders for their commitment and emphasized a rich program, including collaborations with other theaters, the Conservatory, and a young audience season "Scènes d’enfance" supported by the Department, all at affordable prices, thus embodying public service.
Among the announced highlights is the show "Le Pas du monde" by the collective XY, a "gem" featuring 22 artists, which will be presented on October 6th in partnership with the Scène nationale de Narbonne. Magali Arnaud described this work as remarkable for its breathtaking acrobatic virtuosity and poetry, reminding us of the fragility and interconnectedness of life.
The creation of an inter-municipal media library in Carcassonne, with construction beginning for an opening in late 2027, is presented as a strong act of determination and a societal choice supported by President Régis Banquet and the majority of the Agglo's elected officials.
The cultural season, which includes 29 shows, has already attracted nearly 5000 spectators in previous editions. It also features 20 school sessions involving 33 schools. The "Pass 10 spectacles" is offered at a price of 80 euros.
