Leucate, a land of sailors for millennia, honors its maritime community. From Leucate residents who participated in the American War of Independence to those who sailed during the two World Wars, the commune has always paid tribute to its seafarers. The war memorial and the 'Anciens Marins' roundabout, with its emblematic anchor, testify to their central place in local history.
This exhibition, officially recognized for the 400th anniversary of the French Navy, aims to pass on the memory of sailors, past and present, to future generations and to help them discover the maritime soul of Leucate.
“"The exhibition opening is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10th at 6:30 PM, and a guided tour will take place on Saturday, November 14th at 11 AM at the Foyer de Leucate."
