This Tuesday, September 15th, the town of Sigean marked an important milestone with the inauguration of the Centre Médical du Peyrou. This new facility, the result of three years of effort, aims to strengthen the network of health professionals and the care pathway for residents.
Doctors Kaid AHMED MBERIK and Bianca SELLITTO will now practice at this center, which occupies the former radiology center, purchased and fully renovated by the municipality. The space includes four modern consulting rooms, with potential for future expansion.
The inauguration brought together numerous health professionals from the area, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and physiotherapists, who came to welcome the new practitioners. The municipality emphasized that the arrival of these two doctors not only meets the population's needs but also enhances Sigean's attractiveness in terms of healthcare.
Furthermore, the municipality reminds residents of other available services and aid. Voters are invited to report any address changes before December 31st, 2026, to the Elections department, by providing a copy of identification and proof of residence. The youth card "DÉCLIC" offers discounts on membership fees for certain partner associations, as well as for the cinema and municipal pool. Finally, an aid of €100 is available for students residing in Sigean who are pursuing studies after middle school (graduating in June 2024, 2025, or 2026), provided they submit an application form, a school certificate for the 2026/2027 academic year, and a bank account detail (R.I.B.) before June 30th, 2027.
