Born on the land of Aubrac, Laurent, son of a farmer and grandson of a livestock dealer, chose to return after hotel studies and years spent in Relais & Châteaux establishments. It was there he met Patricia 29 years ago. Together, they decided to build a project that truly reflected them.
In 2009, they renovated a two-century-old building, a former stable, to open their doors. For 17 years, they have welcomed loyal guests, pilgrims on the Saint-Jacques pilgrimage route, families, and friends seeking a break. The establishment offers five rooms with views of the Aubrac meadows, as well as a gîte that can accommodate up to 15 people, ideal for private stays.
Designed for everyone, La Borie de l’Aubrac is also certified Tourism and Disability. Rooms accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM) have been fitted, and a specific reception program for individuals with motor, visual, auditory, or mental disabilities has been developed in partnership with the Aubrac Regional Natural Park.
The establishment offers unique nocturnal experiences, including the spectacle of the starry sky, the Milky Way, and the rare phenomenon of moonrise, an alternative to traditional sunrises. Mornings are an opportunity for Laurent and Patricia to share special moments with their guests over a breakfast of local specialties, including fouace, served in a home-like atmosphere.
Nearby, visitors can discover the Bès river, the Déroc waterfall, the Route des Lacs, and the Col de Bonnecombe, all within an environment of rare silence.
Laurent, also an elected official for the Aubrac Regional Natural Park, has contributed to the development of the Valeurs Parc brand since its inception. La Borie de l’Aubrac was the first referenced accommodation, a choice motivated by the conviction to promote values of authenticity, quality of life, and respect for human beings.
Patricia and Laurent are thus committed to nature, people, and the local economy through the Valeurs Parc naturel régional brand.
