During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, a rain and storm phenomenon will first affect the Cévennes before extending to the plains for the entire day on Wednesday. In the highlands, precipitation totals could reach 200 to 250 mm, locally up to 300 mm. In the plains, in the latter part of the day, precipitation could reach 150 mm locally, with a stationary phenomenon.
The following watercourses are placed on yellow FLOODING alert: Gardon d'Alès, Gardon d'Anduze, Cèze amont, Vidourle.
Consequently, the prefect of the Gard has decided to suspend all school transport throughout the department for the entire day on Wednesday. Educational establishments will ensure minimal reception.
The prefecture advises the public to limit travel, take shelter in a solid building, and never venture onto submerged or partially submerged roadways, nor onto submersible bridges or fords if they are closed or beginning to be submerged. State services are fully mobilized.
