The Aubrac Carladez Viadène Community Council, meeting in Curières on September 15, made significant decisions focused on territorial solidarity and strengthening local action. One key deliberation concerns the distribution of the National Fund for the Equalization of Intercommunal and Communal Resources (FPIC). The community of communes, a contributor to this national fund, will have to pay nearly €985,000 in 2026. To support its municipalities, the intercommunal entity has decided to assume a larger share of this contribution, representing an additional effort of approximately €130,000 from its own budget. This measure aims to preserve the municipalities' capacity for action and their budgets amidst limited financial room for maneuver.
The Espace Natura will feature a new pricing structure designed to make it more accessible. This evolution is part of a broader reflection on the facility's future and its social role in the territory. New orientations include more flexible options for families, the creation of monthly subscriptions, and specific rates for people with disabilities and more vulnerable groups. The Community of Communes will continue to provide substantial financial support, covering 74% of operating costs.
Several projects aimed at enhancing the territory's attractiveness were also approved. Municipal investment project aid was allocated, totaling €45,360.77. These matching funds are distributed among Curières (€16,233.75 for road works), Laguiole (€16,767.70 for a multisports field), Soulages-Bonneval (€591.12 for the refurbishment of the 'touât' on the Chemin des Eaux), and Thérondels (€11,768.20 for road works). Furthermore, nearly 1.9 hectares of land will be acquired in Laguiole for €202,347 to prepare for the expansion of the La Poujade business park.
The assembly also approved the continuation of Occitan language teaching in schools, renewed its support for local associations with €8,450, and initiated an evolution in housing investment policy to facilitate the arrival of apprentices, seasonal workers, interns, and mobile professionals. Finally, membership in the future Public Limited Company Departmental Agency for Attractiveness and Tourism of Aveyron was approved, a pooled tool to promote tourism and the department's attractiveness.
At the close of the session, the Community Council highlighted the role of the Tourist Office and launched a collective reflection to enhance the territory's visibility, establishing a working group for the tourism communication strategy.
