Preparatory works for the future Rodez-Aveyron Territorial Boarding School have begun at the hospital site, marking a key step in enhancing the region's appeal and accommodating future health professionals.

A new milestone has been reached for the future Rodez-Aveyron Territorial Boarding School with the commencement of preparatory works on the site immediately adjacent to the Rodez Hospital Centre. This multi-partner project aims to boost the attractiveness of the Aveyron region and facilitate the reception of future health professionals. It brings together several partners alongside the Rodez Hospital Centre: Rodez Agglomeration, the Department of Aveyron, the Occitanie Regional Health Agency, the Occitanie Region, and the State.
The future building will house 70 furnished accommodations for medical interns and students from other health fields. Its design will also incorporate objectives for limiting environmental impact. With 2,000 m² of shared spaces, including communal kitchens, study rooms, and a central patio, this boarding school is conceived as a true living space, fostering exchanges between students and breaking down professional silos within the health sector.
Beyond its accommodation function, the Rodez-Aveyron Territorial Boarding School aims to facilitate encounters among future health professionals, strengthen links between community medicine and hospitals, and encourage the long-term establishment of new practitioners in Aveyron. The launch of the preparatory works thus marks the concrete beginning of the site's transformation and a significant advance for this structuring project, serving the training, reception, and future of healthcare provision in the territory.
