The programming committee of the PETR Uzège-Pont du Gard met on Thursday, September 24, 2026, to discover several ambitious projects. An update on the financial framework's progress was also presented, revealing that 72% of the available budget has already been committed, with 16 projects selected representing 52% of the initial envelope.
Among the initiatives chosen, the Pierres d’Oc project, led by the Syndicat mixte des gorges du Gardon, aims to promote dry stone construction in partnership with other Occitanie territories. It will include actions for surveying, training, and information dissemination on this traditional building technique.
The Espace test Agricole (Agricultural Test Space), supported by the CC Pays d’Uzès, will provide crucial support to young farmers wishing to establish themselves, allowing them to test their crops before fully committing. Additionally, the Equiterre project, managed by the Institut Français du cheval et de l’équitation, will implement training focused on equine traction in agriculture.
The municipality of Fournès is leading the Jardins partagés (Shared Gardens) project, which will create plots for residents who wish to cultivate their own gardens. This initiative aims to foster an intergenerational hub around gardening. Furthermore, the intergenerational park project at Bois du Pasquier in Montfrin has been officially programmed.
