In Pont-Saint-Esprit, artisan Marine Ventura breathes new life into stained glass through her Lumivitra workshop, blending traditional know-how with contemporary creations.

Based in Pont-Saint-Esprit, stained glass artist Marine Ventura is redefining the art of stained glass. Trained in ancestral techniques and with experience in restoring historical monuments, she founded Lumivitra in 2022 to explore contemporary creation. Her workshop transforms glass into paintings, mirrors, and decorative objects, with light as the guiding thread.
Fascinated by light that passes through, colors, and fragments glass, Marine Ventura chose this profession nearly twenty years ago. Today, she is recognized as an artisan of art, mastering both the gestures of traditional stained glass and the demands of restoration.
Her artistic journey began in Beaune, before specializing at the CERFAV in Vannes-le-Châtel, where she earned her CAP Vitrailliste and CAP Décoratrice sur verre. Her apprenticeship continued with master glassmaker Bulard in Saint-Alexandre, Gard, focusing on the restoration of ancient stained glass for prestigious sites such as the Palais des Papes, Rodez Cathedral, and Notre-Dame-de-la-Major in Marseille. These experiences provided her with a solid mastery of traditional techniques and a deep respect for the work of past glassmakers.
Since 2022, with the creation of Lumivitra, Marine Ventura uses these techniques for contemporary creations. Her ambition is to bring stained glass out of churches and monuments and into our homes as paintings, mirrors, glass walls, screens, doors, or transoms. She plays with transparencies, textures, and colors, exploring the effects of natural light on blown glass, for refined and graphic works.
Among her notable works are the Polyptyque Boréal, a monumental piece playing with black and emerald green, and the stained-glass paintings Monarque and Albus, recognized with the « Fabriqué en Occitanie » label. Her mirror collection, including Le Diamant Orage and L’Ovale, explores the duality between reflecting space and transforming it with colored glass.
Marine Ventura also offers custom creations for individuals, interior designers, and decorators. The process involves discovering the space, discussing desires, creating a model, and then meticulous fabrication including glass selection, cutting, assembly, glass painting, lead setting, and puttying, highlighting the value of artisanal craftsmanship.
She enjoys collaborations, such as with Nicolas Pons from Atelier Palette in Saint-Étienne-des-Sorts, to integrate stained glass into furniture, illustrating her desire to break down barriers between art crafts.
Her work combines tradition and modernity, using the fundamental techniques of stained glass while adapting them to contemporary uses and diverse glass types. She aims to showcase this ancient craft from a new perspective.
Marine Ventura's creations can be seen at various fairs and craft markets in the region, including the European Arts and Crafts Days, the Printemps des Créateurs in Pont-Saint-Esprit, the Art’isans fair, and the Foire d’Alès. New events are planned at the Salon des Métiers d’Art de Vergèze, the Festival du verre in the Pyrénées-Orientales, and the NIMAGINE fair, from November 7 to 15, 2026. Her workshop is also open by appointment, and she is active on social media.
