Météo-France has issued a red alert for rain and flooding in the Gard department, in addition to an orange alert for storms and floods. This decision was made on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
In response to this critical weather situation, the public is strongly advised to postpone all non-essential travel. It is also recommended to avoid roads and stay indoors.
Schools throughout the department will be closed for the day. Furthermore, all public transport services are suspended across the entire Gard region.
A crisis unit, involving state services, has been activated to manage the situation and coordinate necessary interventions.
