From November 2nd to 22nd, 2026, the residents of Nîmes are called to vote to name the future urban park located south of the city center, a major project that will cover 14 hectares.

The City of Nîmes is launching an unprecedented consultation to allow residents to choose the name for its future urban park. This new green space, which will extend over 1.5 km between the Triangle de la gare and the Bois des Noyers, will cover an area of 14 hectares. Its opening is planned for 2027.
Three proposals are submitted for the vote: Les Pépinières, referencing the site's history; Parc Ernest-Pichon, named after the former owner; and Parc Jacques-Chirac, a proposal maintained by the current mayor, Vincent Bouget.
This project, enhanced by support from the Occitanie Region, includes amenities to adapt to climate change, such as a water mirror and a misting system, as well as play areas for children.
The consultation is taking place online at jeparticipe.nimes.fr and at the town hall, until November 22nd. Only one vote is allowed per email address, requiring first name, last name, and postal code. Full details are available on the city's website.
