From Monday, October 26 to Thursday, October 29, 2026, the Mammobile will travel through the Gers to offer free screenings in the towns of Lombez, Pavie, Berdoues, and Masseube.

As part of Pink October, the Department of Gers continues its efforts in prevention and early detection of breast cancer. The Mammobile, a mobile mammography unit, will resume its tour from Monday, October 26 to Thursday, October 29, 2026, stopping in four new towns: Lombez, Pavie, Berdoues, and Masseube.
Since its launch in November 2024, the initiative has facilitated 2,754 mammograms, including 382 in 2024, 1,407 in 2025, and 965 in 2026 as of September 30. The Mammobile serves as a public health tool to reduce inequalities in access to care and prevention.
This free screening is available to women aged 50 to 74 who have not had a mammogram in the past two years. The examination includes both a mammogram and a breast palpation.
The initiative is supported by the Gers Committee for the Fight Against Cancer and co-financed by the Departmental Council of Gers and the Occitanie Regional Health Agency. The CPAM and MSA ensure contact with eligible patients, while the association Ariège Prévention Mobile (APM09) provides the vehicle and necessary personnel.
The primary goal is to reduce territorial inequalities in access to prevention and enable more individuals to benefit from early detection.
