The Haute-Garonne Prefecture has issued a new drought decree applicable from November 1, 2026. This development brings new restrictions aimed at preserving water resources and ensuring the supply of drinking water for everyone.
In Auterive, the reinforced alert entails specific rules for various uses. Watering vegetable gardens is permitted only between 8 PM and 8 AM, and prohibited from 8 AM to 8 PM. For lawns, flowerbeds, ornamental gardens, and green spaces, watering is prohibited, except for trees and shrubs under three years old, limited to twice a week between 8 PM and 8 AM.
Washing private vehicles is prohibited, except for sanitary imperatives. Filling private swimming pools is also forbidden, except for topping up or initial filling of pools whose construction began before the initial restrictions. Ornamental fountains are prohibited from being supplied if they operate on an open circuit. Finally, cleaning facades, roofs, sidewalks, and roadways is prohibited, except for sanitary, safety, or work-related imperatives.
