The Prefecture of Haute-Garonne has published a new order, effective from Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 8:00 AM, which repeals the previous one from September 11. This order maintains the municipality of Bruguières on REINFORCED ALERT 🟠 concerning drinking water usage, specifically in the lower Garonne sector, despite several areas moving to the higher 'Crisis' level.
The restriction measures therefore remain unchanged. Strictly prohibited are: watering lawns, flowerbeds, and green spaces; washing vehicles at home (only permitted at professional stations with high-pressure or water recycling equipment); completely filling private swimming pools (only topping up is tolerated); and cleaning terraces, facades, roofs, and roadways (except for sanitary, safety, or work-related imperatives).
Vegetable gardens may only be watered between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Trees and shrubs under three years old are limited to two waterings per week during the same night hours. It is reminded that the lateral canal remains on reinforced alert, the Hers-Mort river on vigilance, and its tributaries in crisis.
Water resource tensions remain very high across the Garonne basin. The Mairie de Bruguières thanks the public for continuing their daily water-saving efforts.
