Level 2, known as alert, establishes initial legal restrictions to protect resources and prioritize essential uses. Water use for activities such as vehicle washing, watering green spaces, or filling swimming pools is restricted to certain hours. Non-compliance is subject to legal sanctions.
Level 3, known as reinforced alert, extends restrictions to even more essential uses. Prohibitions include non-essential activities like washing public roads or sports facilities. The goal is to prevent a crisis situation.
Level 4, known as crisis, is the highest alert level. If previous levels have not sufficed, the prefecture can declare it to reserve water for vital needs. This level remains rare, as prior measures generally help avoid shortages if applicable restrictions are respected.
