One hundred and thirty years ago, on November 3, 1896, Jean Jaurès delivered a historic speech in the Chamber of Deputies to defend Ottoman Armenians who were victims of the "great massacres" perpetrated under the rule of Sultan Abdülhamid II.

This speech, given by the socialist leader as he was becoming a prominent defender in the Dreyfus affair, aimed to mobilize opinion and political action in favor of the persecuted Armenian community.
To commemorate this event and discuss its legacy, a round table discussion will be held on Friday, November 6, from 7 PM to 9 PM. It will take place at the Pavillon République, located within the Conseil départemental de la Haute-Garonne, at 1, Boulevard de la Marquette in Toulouse.
