As part of the Regional Committee for Citizen Dialogue, citizens and officials in Occitanie have begun a collective reflection to improve mobility in rural and sparsely populated territories.

The Occitanie Region has launched a participatory initiative, the Regional Committee for Citizen Dialogue (CRDC), aimed at involving residents in shaping regional mobility policies. The goal is to better understand on-the-ground realities to design solutions suited to everyone's needs.
During the initial meetings, participants learned about the Region's mobility actions and engaged in workshops to share their experiences, express their expectations, and exchange viewpoints. These discussions aim to identify daily travel difficulties and the specificities of rural and sparsely populated areas.
This initiative took place in the presence of Jean-Luc Gibelin, Vice-President of the Occitanie Region for Mobility, Vincent Garel, representative of the Mobility and Infrastructure commission, and Peggy Kançal, Director of DAPHNEE. Social moments also fostered connections and dialogue.
This collective work will continue over three more weekends, with input from specialists, academics, and local stakeholders. The objective is to transform shared experiences into concrete recommendations for mobility solutions better adapted to local realities. Proposals will then be presented at a regional plenary assembly.
The Occitanie Region encourages following this unique process via the newsletter on the Région Citoyenne website. This collective consultation places citizens' experiences at the heart of public policy development to collectively imagine more suitable mobility.
