The economic outlook report published by the DREETS Occitanie reveals a decline in salaried employment in the region during the second quarter of 2026. Concurrently, the number of job seekers has increased, contributing to a continued rise in the unemployment rate, a trend also observed across mainland France.
Regarding businesses, failures continue to show an upward trend. However, contract terminations for economic reasons, while remaining significant, show a slight decrease on an annual basis.
Finally, the increase in new applications for the partial activity scheme has resulted in a slight rise in the volume of compensated hours to date.
