Following the violence that occurred on Saturday, October 17th, the Association of Mayors of France (AMF) called for a rally in Toulouse on Monday, October 19th, to denounce acts of vandalism and reaffirm republican values.

The mobilization day on Saturday, October 17th, which brought together between 550,000 and 800,000 people across France, left cities scarred. In response to the acts of vandalism against shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs, the AMF organized a rally at Place du Capitole in Toulouse this Monday, October 19th.
In Toulouse, around thirty businesses were affected, with twenty being looted. Damage and destruction to public spaces, including roadways, urban furniture, and municipal buildings, are estimated at €675,000.
These criminal actions, carried out by radicalized groups, also targeted symbols of the Republic such as the town halls of Lille, Marseille, and Limoges, the latter being set on fire, endangering the staff working inside.
The CESER, present at the rally, also expressed its support for the mayors' appeal, demanding respect for the rule of law and support for republican values. The institution emphasizes the need for protection by the police, firefighters, and state services for peaceful coexistence.
