The Communal Social Action Center (CCAS) of Longages is considering launching an experiment to improve the mobility of the elderly for their medical journeys. This initiative would be carried out in collaboration with the MELISSA association (Mobility, Mutual Aid, Intergenerational Link, Support, and Solidarity for Seniors), which specializes in solidarity transport for health.
The MELISSA association offers its help to elderly individuals who have no other adapted transport solution for their medical appointments. A statement from the association details the terms of this potential partnership.
MELISSA is calling for volunteers who would like to accompany a senior citizen to a medical appointment. Individuals needing this transport service are also invited to contact the association.
To learn more or to sign up, one can contact the association via the contact details provided in the official document, or meet MELISSA representatives during the night market this Thursday, October 15.
