The CROUS of Toulouse is partnering this year with the Danses et Continents Noirs festival, initiated 30 years ago by James Carlès. Several events are scheduled at the MAC, offering free access to students.

The festival, which has become a multi-year research-curation project, aims to shed light on the construction of dance, choreography, and somatic practice corpora in the West. It seeks to make visible the presences, heritages, and knowledge often marginalized by dominant narratives, while acknowledging their role in co-constructing European artistic and cultural modernities.
Several events are planned at the MAC. The opening evening, titled 'Energy Creates Form,' will take place on Friday, October 23rd at 7:30 PM. This will be followed by a conference and film on Sunday, October 25th at 8:30 PM, titled 'From Work to Institution: Transmitting and Protecting a Living Choreographic Heritage.' On Monday, October 26th at 8:30 PM, a film screening and performance, also under the title 'Energy Creates Form,' are scheduled.
The festival continues with an 'All Styles Showcase' on Thursday, October 29th at 8 PM, which is an open call for projects. Finally, a meeting with Sonia Schoonejans is organized on Monday, November 2nd at 8 PM.
