On Saturday, July 19, 2026, during the local festival, Anne SOULIE, mayor of BERNAC-DEBAT, and her municipal council inaugurated the new multi-activity hall. The ceremony was attended by Sophie MIEGEVILLE, director of the prefect's cabinet, Maryse CARRERE, senator, Jean-Michel SEGNERE, departmental councilor, as well as local elected officials, partners, businesses, and residents of the commune.
The municipality aimed to renovate the disused barn located on the town hall square to create a meeting and activity space for residents. This project completes the landscaping already carried out in this square.
The building underwent significant work, including the replacement of the roof structure and covering, the creation of openings and installation of large windows, the restructuring of the Northwest gable, the creation of a concrete slab, and insulation. The activity hall now features a large meeting space, a tea room, accessible restrooms, and a storage area. Energy renovation work was also completed to ensure comfort in all seasons.
ADAC 65 assisted the community with the project's feasibility and provided technical advice. The design and execution were handled by the architecture firm Michel ESTANGOY, supported by the engineering firms BIEE and PEI.
The total cost of the operation amounts to €420,000 including tax. It received financial support from the State (€143,814), the Occitanie Region (€5,868), the Department of Hautes-Pyrénées (€32,222), and the Tarbes Lourdes Pyrénées Agglomeration Community (€30,900).
