On the occasion of October Rose, several events are organized in October in the Heart of the Pyrenees region. Solidarity walks, a hike, a trail run, a film discussion, and prevention actions are offered to fight against breast cancer.
Each year, the October Rose campaign raises awareness about breast cancer screening and the importance of prevention. In the Heart of the Pyrenees, particularly in Lannemezan, Capvern, Galan, Recurt, and Benqué-Molère, various stakeholders are mobilizing through solidarity and awareness events.
In Lannemezan, the cinema Le Grand Rio is hosting a screening of the film "Bénissez nos seins" on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 8 PM, followed by a discussion with health professionals. A self-palpation workshop will also be offered from 7:30 PM.
On the same day, a 7 km solidarity walk is organized in Lannemezan, starting at 4:30 PM from the hospital parking lot. Participation costs €5, with options for tapas and a convivial meal after the walk.
In Galan, a 10 km solidarity walking tour is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2026. The start and finish will be at the town hall, with an offered aperitif. Participation starts at €10 for adults.
On Sunday, October 11, 2026, Benqué-Molère will host the Trail des Baronnies – October Rose. Three formats are available: a 10 km solidarity walk (€5), a 10 km discovery trail (€10), and a 20 km challenge trail (€20). A meal is also offered by registration.
The municipality of Recurt is mobilizing on Sunday, October 11, 2026, with a solidarity walk of 3, 4, or 8 km. The fee is €5 for adults and free for children under 12. All proceeds will be donated to the fight against breast cancer.
Finally, in Capvern-les-Bains, on Sunday, October 18, 2026, a 3 km solidarity walk or run is organized. Registrations begin at 8:30 AM for a 9:30 AM start. The day also includes activities, wellness stands, and a convivial meal.
These events offer an opportunity to gather and mobilize together in the Heart of the Pyrenees to support the fight against breast cancer.
