The municipality of Frontignan la Peyrade is improving the safety of its citizens by increasing the number of accessible automated external defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the city, particularly near schools and sports facilities.

The municipality of Frontignan la Peyrade is strengthening its network of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), devices designed for anyone to use, even without specific training, to save lives in case of cardiac arrest.
In recent months, new connected defibrillators have been installed in strategic locations. At the Lavandins nursery school, a device is now positioned between the school entrance and the Maison Désiré-Archimbeau, thus covering the Roger-Michel crèche and its surroundings. At the Terres-Blanches school, the defibrillator has been moved from the refectory to the sports plateau, expanding its accessibility to the neighboring nursery school. At the Alexandre-Soubrier gymnasium, the equipment has been installed outdoors, near the entrance to the lyonnais pétanque court, for optimal availability.
Deployment will continue from 2027 with new defibrillators at Victor Hugo Park and the annex town hall of La Peyrade. In 2028, the leisure area will also benefit. Furthermore, two defibrillators from the emergency posts will be made available, off-season, in the vehicles of the municipal police. The other three will be stored at the Operational Technical Center (CTO) and used as needed.
The goal is to reduce response time in case of cardiac arrest, where every minute counts. These easy-to-use devices allow anyone to act immediately.
In an emergency, it is recommended to call emergency services (15 or 112), open the defibrillator, and follow the voice instructions to place the electrodes and deliver a shock if necessary.
Defibrillators are now installed in strategic locations, accessible at all times or during opening hours: at the Marché square (between the Town Hall and the Market Halls) and on the facade of the Alexandre-Soubrier gymnasium (near the pétanque court) outdoors 24/7. They are also present in public buildings such as schools, sports facilities, and administrative buildings.
With these new installations, Frontignan la Peyrade confirms its role as a caring and responsible city, where each of us can become a crucial link in the rescue chain. It is encouraged to familiarize yourself with these devices and share this information.
