The 2026 season of the Youth Engagement Projects in Frontignan is drawing to a close with the final October worksite. A closing ceremony will be held on December 3rd at the Henri-Ferrari sports hall to honor the young participants' commitment. The dates for the four sessions planned for 2027 have also been announced.
During the first week of the autumn holidays, from October 19th to 23rd, eight young people from Frontignan and Lapeyradois, aged 14 to 17, renovated and repainted the changing rooms at the Henri-Ferrari sports hall. Supervised by a technician and youth service animators, these young individuals successfully completed a concrete community project, receiving compensation for their efforts.
Launched in February 2024, the Youth Engagement Projects are aimed at young people aged 14 to 25 during school holidays. They undertake various general interest tasks for the municipality, such as painting, brush clearing, beach cleaning, renovating community facilities, and creating supports for exhibitions. These projects contribute to improving the living environment and communal facilities, while also fostering the autonomy, access to rights, training, and social and professional integration of young people.
Technical supervision and support from animators are provided to participants. At the end of each project, a collective and individual review is conducted, and each young person receives a certificate of civic engagement. Additional individual support is offered to those who need it to facilitate their social and/or professional integration.
The youth engagement ceremony, which will honor the young people involved in the youth service projects, will take place on Thursday, December 3rd, 2026, starting at 6 PM in the reception area of the Henri-Ferrari sports hall. A short film retracing their involvement will be screened.
The Youth Engagement Projects will continue in 2027 with four scheduled sessions: from February 8th to 12th, from April 5th to 9th, from July 5th to 9th, and from October 23rd to 29th.
