From October 23rd to 25th, on the island of Embiez, the Défi d'Elles took place, an event dedicated to Pink October and breast cancer prevention. The competition featured 64 teams of two. Among them were Chrissy Garcia and Hélène Carceller, agents from the City of Gignac, who took on the challenge with the goal of competing for those who couldn't be there.
The adventure raid included an intense two-day program: a 12km trail challenge, a night orienteering race, a 27km mountain bike course with 700m of elevation gain (700D+), and a final 15km trail run (600D+). The event was marked by emotion, self-transcendence, and solidarity.
Beyond the podium, they met this solidarity challenge with courage and determination, while carrying a strong message in favor of breast cancer prevention.
Thanks to their performance, Chrissy Garcia and Hélène Carceller finished second on the podium with a combined race time of 5 hours and 23 minutes. The City of Gignac congratulates them on their excellent achievement and their courage in this human and sporting adventure that carries an essential message for breast cancer prevention.
