Originally from Calais, gendarme Christophe Capon took up his duties on August 1st as head of the Lunel brigade, succeeding Vincent Tronchet. He arrives with his family and views this new position as a challenge.

After a career that began in Calais and included postings in Val d’Oise, Seine et Marne, and Port Leucate, Commander Christophe Capon arrived in Lunel on August 1st. He takes over the leadership of the brigade, which covers twelve municipalities, succeeding Vincent Tronchet, who had been in charge since 2023.
Christophe Capon emphasizes the good collaboration with local elected officials and various security forces. He has notably spoken with Jérôme Boisson, President of the Agglomeration and Mayor of Villetelle, during flood alerts for the Vidourle river.
Considering Lunel a dynamic and safe city, the officer regrets the city's lingering negative reputation, stating that "enormous work has been done" since the events of 2012-2016. The city was designated a Republican Reconquest Zone (QRR) in 2019, strengthening the presence of law enforcement and video surveillance equipment to combat crime.
His main areas of focus include combating the underground economy, drug trafficking, domestic violence, and property crimes. He will be supported by his "quality team of gendarmes."
The relocation of the barracks, planned for 2028 near Mas de Fourque, which includes the construction of 110 housing units, is also a major project expected to improve performance and public reception, including for people with reduced mobility.
