In response to the red rain-flood alert and the announced weather conditions, the City of Mèze has initiated its Communal Safeguard Plan (PCS) to ensure the safety of its residents and prevent risks.
Several precautionary measures have been put in place. At the request of the prefecture, early childhood and youth reception facilities – including nurseries and extracurricular leisure centers – will be closed from 12:30 PM. Girard Castle Park and the cemetery will also be inaccessible, as will the parking lot at ZAC des Costes.
The motorhome area and the Beau Rivage campsite are being evacuated. Approximately 120 people are currently being housed at the municipal center Le Taurus. All municipal facilities used for sports and associative activities, including the Le Taurus cinema, are closed. The waste disposal centers of Sète agglopôle Méditerranée are also affected by this closure.
A dedicated municipal emergency number has been activated: 04 67 18 30 46. Municipal services remain fully mobilized and are continuously monitoring the situation's evolution within the framework of the PCS.
The City urges everyone to exercise the utmost caution. It is advised to limit travel to what is strictly necessary, never to enter flooded roads or areas near watercourses, and to strictly adhere to the instructions issued by the prefectural authorities and emergency services.
