As part of the Fête du Sol Vivant 2026, the Communauté de communes Sud-Hérault is mobilizing its agents to inform and educate the public on composting techniques and biodegradable waste reduction.

As part of the Fête du Sol Vivant 2026, organized by the Réseau Compost Citoyen, environmental service agents from the Communauté de communes Sud-Hérault were present at local markets. The aim was to offer activities, provide information on composting, mulching, and gardening techniques, and raise public awareness about reducing biodegradable waste, including green and food waste.
With educational and supportive approaches, Carole and Tristan offered concrete solutions, answered questions, and highlighted the various systems implemented by the Communauté de communes for managing biodegradable waste, such as composters, shredders, and vermicomposters. These solutions aim to reduce waste sent to disposal centers.
Permanences will soon be held at the territory's two disposal centers, in Quarante and Pierrerue. These sessions will introduce the new green waste shredder loan service offered by the Communauté de communes Sud-Hérault and assist future users in safely operating the equipment.
